Greetings Archie R-V Family!
As your new Superintendent of Schools, I come to you excited, focused, and ready to continue the amazing work that everyone trailblazed before me. I want to continue the momentum in place, to achieve the goals that the Board of Education has given me. As a newcomer to the District, I think you should know how palpable the Whirlwind school spirit is. There is a clear sense of pride and genuine love for this school demonstrated by the staff, students and community members I’ve had the opportunity to meet and work with. I feel so fortunate to have been hired to help lead the district!
It is apparent that very wise stewardship of the taxpayers’ money has taken place, and extremely savvy planning has created the facilities and the programming that Archie R-V offers. Especially over the last four or five years, and clearly at present, bond issued funds have been put to use in smart, practical ways. The current construction project is well underway, and when you are able to see the finished product, I know you will feel the Board of Education and the administration/staff have utilized the money to get the “most bang for your bucks”.
A continued focus by the faculty, staff and administration will be to not only offer students the best activities and athletics, but a concerted effort to improve our academic scores across the grades. Scores from Spring 2026 State Assessments are now available, and while there were many successes, we know that we have room to drive those scores higher. As always, we want to make sure that our students are best prepared to meet the challenges of the world around them, and can meet their peers on a level playing field.
Of course, nothing worth achieving is gained easily, and Archie R-V, like most other districts in the state, is going to face some incredible funding challenges in the upcoming years due to state funding shortfalls. Amendment 5, following Senate Bill 3, will have a most consequential impact on the District if it passes. I look forward to meeting and forming relationships with as many of you as possible. Please feel free to drop in during what remains of summer and introduce yourself. I am excited to be a Whirlwind, and I want you to know my commitment to Archie R-V is sincere, strong and resolute. Together, we are all stronger! I started my 38th year in education on July 1, 2026, and I know the best is yet to come. In the words of President Teddy Roosevelt, “Far and away the best price that life offers is the chance to work hard at work worth doing”. I’ve found that here in Archie.

The high school football team is preparing to go to team camp at Northwest Missouri later this week.
Archie 26-27 Online Registration Update is now available on your Campus Parent portal. Please see attachment with more information.
Band camp is just one week away! Please plan on having your students meet outside the dome from 10:30am-12:00pm as we prepare for this upcoming parade competition season, as well as spending time preparing music for the football season. Camp is going to be for members of HS band only. We will be indoors and outdoors next week so please make sure you are prepared for the weather.
General Tips to Prepare:
- Drink water in the days leading up to camp
- Start practicing your instrument if you have it, if not practice buzzing and sizzling
- Bring tennis shoes and a water bottle with you

The attached link has a very clear explanation of how Amendment 5 would significantly impact our budget if passed in August. Please look it over and click on the calculation tab so you can see the actual dollar effect. While we can't tell you how to vote, we can provide you with this information, so you can make an informed decision. The Archie Community has shown amazing support for the school, in so many ways, none more powerful than the overwhelming success of the recent bond issue. Please note that both the Dome and West Gym will be CLOSED to all students, staff, and community members from Thursday, July 2, 2026, through Sunday, July 12, 2026.
🏀 During this time, the gym floors will be professionally refinished. To ensure the new finish cures properly, no one will be permitted to enter or use either gym.
📅 In addition, Archie R-V School will observe the required MSHSAA Dead Period from Saturday, July 4, through Sunday, July 12, 2026.
During the MSHSAA Dead Period:
❌ No sports practices
❌ No open gyms
❌ No weights or conditioning sessions
❌ No contact between students and school coaches or directors for their respective sport or activity
We appreciate everyone's cooperation as we complete these important facility improvements and observe the required MSHSAA Dead Period. The gyms will reopen on Monday, July 13, 2026.
