First Day of Independent Reading!

Mrs. Lile's English I (freshmen) and English II (sophomore) classes enjoyed their first trip to the library in order to get books for their year-long Independent Reading (IR) program. Mrs. Lile used a process to match students' interests with good young-adult books, and students used this data to select books they know they will enjoy reading 20 minutes a day from now until the end of the school year. Archie HS librarian, Mrs. Parker, spent time giving a library tour, discussing where to find more book ideas, and even helping students select free books from a discard cart. It was a successful day, and now IR is underway!
